INTRODUCTION
About Me
My name is Anilej Dones and I am a senior at Sport and Medical Sciences Academy. I will be the first in my family to graduate high school and go to college. I was born in Hartford, Connecticut and I was raised in East Hartford, Connecticut. I've always been blessed with teachers who genuinely cared about me. My pre-k, kindergarten and fifth grade teachers were the most helpful women I've had in my life besides my mother. They treated me like a child of their own and always kept me on task and gave me the help I needed. They made me want to do the same things for other kids. Since I was young I loved to pretend play that I was a teacher and as I grew older I loved being around children. I have always had a connection with young children and always knew how to make them laugh and have fun. Since I always enjoyed being a "teacher" and being around children I decided I would work with a class of Kindergartners at Kinsella Magnet School.
Mission Statement
My mission is to provide young children with assistance in their education. As a little girl I have always looked up to my teachers and wanted to be just like them. They were always so kind and treated me as if I was a child of their own. I desire to give my students the same attention and help them become a better person while they’re still young and innocent. After I graduate from Sport and Medical Sciences Academy, I plan on attending Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT and majoring in Elementary Education and becoming a teacher.
